Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties
[Section-4 (1) (b) (i)]
1. Brief History of the Public Authority:
Established in 2000 as Ekalavya Model Residential School at Govt. High school kujendri premises & later shifted to Siriguda which is at a distance of 5 K.M from bus stand/ Railway Station Rayagada in 2007 & Continuing till date. The school is is having students from Class-VI to Class-XII (Science Stream) having a total strength 429.
2. Aim & Objectives of the Public Authority:
It is aimed to impact quality education to the tribal students of both sexes giving equal importance from class-VI to Class-XII along with all free provisions in residential setup to prepare them as able future citizens at par with student of main stream population.
3. Strength of the Public Authority:
In the academic session 2011-12 from class-VI to Class-XII it is having a total strength of 219 Boys & 210 Girls.There is statutory provision of 30 Tribal Boys & 30 Tribal Girls for Enrolment in class-VI every year through entrance test on merit basis 60% of the strength on entrance are being enrolled every year since inception which covers staff, children, PH & Tribal as well as other caste are religion students belonging to revenue villages under the arena of school campus.
4. Main Activities/ Functions of the Public Authority:
The school is having teaching facilities for four languages viz-ODIA (MIL),Eng, Hindi & Sanskrit & other subjects such as Math, Science, Social Studies & computer Science for school Students (Class-VI to Class-X). It imparts teaching in two languages (ODIA-MIL & English) other subjects for +2 are Phy, Chem, Bio, It & Math. It is having computer Aided Teaching & Learning, practical in all science subjects. Facilities are provided for cultural, musical, sports & games Painting & other co-curricular activities like Quiz, Debate, Essay writing, calligraphy, mono action, gardening, plantation, campus Cleaning, beautification of campus etc.
